We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions within a modern data platform or lakehouse environment. The role will focus on building reliable data pipelines, developing data models, ensuring data quality and governance, and supporting analytics and reporting needs. The position will also provide technical guidance to team members and contribute to improving data engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex data engineering solutions.
Design, build, and optimize batch and near real-time data pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.
Develop and maintain data models and data transformation processes across different data layers.
Assess source data and implement appropriate transformation, validation, and data quality controls.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Conduct code and design reviews and promote engineering standards, reusable components, and performance optimization.
Troubleshoot complex data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive and performance improvement measures.
Implement data governance practices, including data quality, lineage, documentation, and secure data handling.
Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to optimize data platforms, performance, and costs.
Support DevOps and CI/CD practices, including automated testing, deployment, and environment management.
Monitor critical data pipelines and support operational requirements such as alerting, reliability, and SLAs.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other data engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Relevant professional experience in Data Engineering, preferably in a senior or technical lead capacity.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must Have:
Strong experience in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT, data transformation, and data pipeline development, including batch and near real-time processing.
Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling, including dimensional modeling and Star Schema.
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and Big Data technologies, preferably Snowflake and/or Azure.
Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, including NoSQL databases and data streaming/messaging technologies.
Good knowledge of data governance, data quality, CI/CD, Agile development, and data engineering best practices.
