The AI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and integrating enterprise AI agents and generative AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry Agent Service and Microsoft Copilot Studio. The role focuses on building practical AI capabilities using agentic workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, prompt engineering, tool calling, and enterprise data integrations. The AI Engineer will collaborate with technical and business teams to translate complex workflows into reliable, scalable, and user-focused AI solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and configure specialized AI agents using Azure AI Foundry Agent Service and Microsoft Copilot Studio.
Implement agent instructions, prompt logic, tool calling, RAG, vector search, structured outputs, validation, and human-review workflows.
Build and maintain retrieval pipelines for chunking, embedding, indexing, and retrieving information from enterprise knowledge sources.
Integrate AI agents with REST APIs, enterprise data sources, and Azure services using Python and structured schemas.
Collaborate with business teams, engineers, subject-matter experts, and senior AI engineers to translate business workflows into AI capabilities.
Develop evaluation datasets, automated tests, and validation methods to measure AI accuracy, relevance, traceability, and usefulness.
Troubleshoot agent, retrieval, and integration issues and continuously improve solutions based on testing and user feedback.
Rapidly prototype new AI capabilities using Git and AI-assisted development tools, while contributing to multi-agent workflows and engineering process automation.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience developing generative AI, agent-based, or retrieval-based applications.
Knowledge of Azure AI Search, embeddings, vector search, RAG, prompt engineering, and enterprise AI integrations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Must Have:
2+ years of experience in Python, software development, or related engineering work, including practical exposure to generative AI, AI agents, or retrieval-based applications.
Working knowledge of Python, REST APIs, JSON schemas, Git, and modular software development practices.
Understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector search, prompt engineering, and AI tool calling.
Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry Agent Service and Microsoft Copilot Studio is strongly preferred.
Ability to learn new AI technologies quickly, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
