Vertere Global Solutions is proud to have served as a Major Sponsor of Blue Hacks 2026, the annual hackathon organized by the Computer Society of the Ateneo (CompSAt) held on March 28–29, 2026 at the Ateneo De Manila University campus.
This year’s event carried the theme “Innovating for a Greener Urban Future: Encouraging Sustainable Living in Cities,” bringing together 25 teams of talented students from some of the Philippines’ leading universities, including Ateneo De Manila University, De La Salle University, University of the Philippines, and University of the East, among others.
Beyond sponsorship, Vertere played an active and meaningful role throughout the event. Ian Salvador and Deo Missalyn Savellano, both Vice Presidents for Sales & Delivery, took the stage to deliver a talk on AI-Powered Engineering: How LLMs are Changing the Way Developers Build Software — giving participants a forward-looking perspective on how artificial intelligence is reshaping modern software development. Deusdatus Bacud, Client Services Director, brought his expertise closer to the ground as a mentor, working directly with one of the competing teams over the course of the two-day event. Rounding out Vertere’s presence, Irene Bartolome, Vice President for Sales & Delivery, served as a panel member during the judging process, helping evaluate the teams’ innovative solutions.
After two days of intense collaboration and innovation, The Walking Dev from the University of the East claimed the top prize, with CodeQuerors from the University of the Philippines-Manila securing second place, and WeJustKen from Ateneo De Manila University rounding out the podium in third. Their solutions stood out as compelling responses to the challenge of building smarter, more sustainable cities.
Blue Hacks 2026 was a testament to what the next generation of technologists can achieve when given the right platform and challenge. Vertere is honored to have contributed to an event that not only celebrates innovation but also channels it toward meaningful, real-world impact — values that sit at the very core of what we do.
